I think of River as more a girl's name than a boy's... probably because of Firefly! I love, love, love River for a girl. It would be in the running for this babe if it didn't sound odd with our other kids names (Annabel, Juliet, Natalie, Margaret... River?)

We are naming our boy twin River Ale and his sister Chloe Mae. I like the name and have for awhile. I actually wanted my last son to be named River but DH wasn't quite on board yet but he suggested it this time around.

We love Firefly too! Grace as a middle name is put there more as a filler - we haven't decided on a girl middle name yet. I'm so glad you like the names as much as we do - we're in Oregon (with all the farmers) and River is fairly unusual here.

Any suggestions for a girl middle name? We'd like something that is one syllable and more plain/common just in case the kids don't like their first names or something. Just nothing starting with a B because of our last name :-)

Well, since you like Firefly you could try River Jayne... Sorry, just being silly. Though I actually love the name Jane.
