Help with getting ds to take vitamins

I will begin by saying my son has been Feeding Therapy but even they haven't made any progress.

My son is on the autism spectrum and also has major sensory issues.

I want to get him to take chewable vitamins. (I'm not looking to mix the vitamins with food.)

I will be buying some vanilla flavored vitamins (he likes vanilla ice cream, in a cone.)

I need ideas on how to coax him into taking vitamins! I'd rather not crush it up, he needs to learn to chew vitamins.

(sadly, bribing hasn't worked)

I do not know what his specific texture issues are, but I know some kids prefer the gummy vitamins. My DS is not on the spectrum, but it was very hard to get him to ake vitamins. Currently he will only take the flinstones complete vitamins, and will only eat the purple ones. We went through quite a bit giving him multiple options before we found one he would not spit out.

Good luck, sorry I could not be more helpful.

Do you think he'd go for liquid vitamins?

He won't do gummy. He won't do liquids.

First, I have a question for the OP:
What is the brand of vanilla flavored vitamins? That might be the only flavoring my DS is NOT allergic to and I'd like to find some.

Second, our experience...my DS has serious texture issues as well and he has been through feeding therapy. He usually has no problems with some firm & crunchy things. He had no problem taking and chewing the chewable vitamins. (Except that I've discovered he's allergic to all the fruit flavors they have. )

Just make sure the first vitamin you give him tastes good. I also told my DS what it was and the flavor it was before giving it to him.

Vanilla is the only possibility for us, too.

Unfortunately, I found out it's not a multivitamin...It's just calcium.
It's Animal Parade by Nature's Plus.

these guys have good vitamins...

and powder vitamins - my son is 10 and just starting chewing his own. It was just simpler and less stressful for our family to mix the vitamins in OJ.

It looks like the powder is orange flavor. My son won't take it/drink it if it has ANY flavor at all.
