K2 for the Dairy Free?

I am having a very tough time finding K2 info and dosage amts for those not able to do butter. I am hoping to do a dairy trial w/ them sometime in the next few months, but would rather wait a bit as we are fighting colds right now. I searched the WAP site but I am not seeing dosage amts. From what I can gather I want the MK-4 version of K2 and not the MK-7 is that right? Mk-4 is like that from animal sources and the MK-7 from soy if I understand correctly.

Do you know if you can get it from ghee? (Not sure if you can do ghee...) We are dairy free except (casein/lactose free) ghee. I'd love it if ghee had the same beneficial properties as butter...

My understanding is that K2 is heat stable, so ghee is as good as the butter it came from.

MK-7 is from fermentation in general, so fermented veggies would have some, and cheese has a mix of MK-4 and MK-7.

yes - ghee is basically the same as the "butter oil" you pay pay lots of money for (with good reason!) - just not nearly as concentrated.

I think bone marrow is also a good K2 source, and I'm guessing there's a seafood source as well, but I don't know what it is. Roe, maybe? There was a list I saw about a year ago that was listing the MK-4 concentration in various animal (rat?) tissues.

Sort of OT, but something I was reading recently was talking about butyrate, a short chain fatty acid found primarily in butter, as likely being a really important component of HVBO - that it would concentrate even more than the fat soluble vitamins with centrifuging. And the dairy free source of *that* would be probiotics + resistant starch (polysaccharides and soluble fiber).

thanks for the info whoMe- I was just reading that blog yesterday and their K2 info actually. He also says that eggs have K2 in them as well- depending on diet- I am guessing those that actually are on pasture though- then they must convert the K1-K2(if I am understanding correctly). However, I am not seeing amounts anywhere. Oh, and yes you are right about the marrow- liver is a good source as well.

my experience is that they definitely helped my teeth getting stronger.
i take it like 2-3 times a week.
