If you had to cut out dairy...

how long did it take to see changes in your LO?

My 13 mo dd is allergic to dairy but it hasn't seemed to bother her when I have it. However, she does have a lot of sleep issues so I decided to try to cut out dairy to see if it makes a difference.

I know it takes 2 weeks for it to get completely get out of your system...did it take that long to see changes?

I'm on day 5 and there is no obvious improvement at this point. I'm planning to go 2 weeks and then add it back slowly and see what happens.

Thanks!

we had different issues: GI tract irritation to milk protein (egg, too) discovered at 2 months. Things improved after a week. He grew out of it at 1 year old though. I've read 2 weeks for it to clear your system then 2 weeks to clear your LO's, so 4 weeks total. But I gotta think if you see NO improvement in 2 weeks, you're probably fine...

With my little people it took a few days to see a difference in behavior and about 2 weeks for them to be 100% better. I had to cut out dairy really early with both kiddos though and had to be extremely through with ds, if I had something that had even a little dairy in it he screamed for 2-3 days.

It took about 3 weeks for the blood in her stool to clear up. I can't recall about all of the other symptoms because I was so new at everything and she was only 3 weeks old! The most recent food I removed was corn. I didn't see enough of a difference until I started learning all of the code words, sources of corn. She then began getting better pretty quickly. However, our DR said that different symptoms subside at different rates and I find this to be true (e.g. a rash may clear before poop returns to normal and so on).

Best wishes!

We saw improvement beginning at day 11-12 (I was just about to give up on the milk protein allergy theory).

With DD2 I can tell in a couple of days. With DD1 I could only see slight signs after 6 weeks.

Yeah... 6 weeks. It took me a few tries to stick it out that long... and when I finally did I regretted giving up at the 2 and 4 week marks, 'cause then I had to start all over.

Hang in there.

It took about 5 weeks to clear the blood from her stool and she would get blood back with even the smallest accidental ingestion by me.

My baby would simply get fussier when I drank a lot of milk straight. It would take 2 days for him to get back to normal.
