No Cry Sleep Solution Experience (xpost)

Hello,

I xposted in "BF beyond infancy" since I'm not sure about how night weaning fits into CLW. Forgive me if this is out of place, but I'm trying to go CLW and I'm wavering because I am finally at the end of the rope with nighttime nursing/comfort sucking. Thus far, I have put no restrictions on nursing/comfort sucking. My DS is 27 months old. I don't care about the daytime including nap time; he is so busy usually that he forgets to nurse unless he gets upset in some way.

Nap time nursing, he won't skip since that's how he goes to sleep and so is it at night; so whenever he awakes at night which can be every 1 1/2 hour sometimes average he comes for me -- we co-sleep.

I'm reading NCSS and like the approach and I wanted to hear how other mothers, especially if you co-slept and had an LO older than 2 at the time, who read and took this approach dealt with night weaning. I'd be grateful if you could answer a few questions:

Let me know your general situation as I did here at the time of using NCSS so I can compare apples to apples.

1. What part of the technique did you have most trouble with and what would you do differently?

2. What part of the technique did you have great success with and why do you think that is?

I am being realistic, I think, about not expecting a 12 hour w/o waking night. 6 to 8 are possible as per my readings. So one or two nursing would be great compared to what I have. I want him to learn to go back to sleep by himself for the most part.

Thank you for your time,

bam
