Is it true that breastmilk is less nutritious after the 1st year???

I've heard that breastmilk gets less nutritious after the first year.

Is this true???

My 13.5 month old nurses quite a bit and also eats tons of solids.

My concern about nutrition is because his lead levels are mysteriously high -
(he was tested with a lead level of 9 at 12 months) so iron, vit. C and especially calcium are super important for him right now to keep him from absorbing more lead as we try to figure out where the heck it is coming from.

I am just wondering if mama's milk still has a lot of calcium after a year...

I was just at a LLL meeting last week and one of the leaders said it was MORE nutritious after the 1st year. I'm sure someone who knows more will chime in here...
Good luck with the lead levels!

Nop. Breastmilk still nutritional as the first day, one year or two. It's the same nutrition for you toddler plus the solids food.

Thank you for that link... I know it's good for babies, but sometimes I worry because my daughter eats so few solids at nearly 15 months. But my milk is still good!
