Teas While Pregnant and Sick- Help!

I'm 11 wks, and I drank Gypsy Cold Care 3 times before reading the back and realizing it says not for pregnant women. Dang! Is this worth worrying about? I am now sipping Pregnancy Tea, but what I really want to do is make make cold concoction with ginger, red pepper flakes, cloves lemon, honey and water. Anyone see any reason not to? I am getting so much conflicting info online about ginger, and now I wonder about cloves, and of all things- my cure all for morning sickness- Mint Medley (Peppermint and Spearmint) because now I am hearing stuff about how bad it is. I am super frustrated as hubby took a special trip to the store for my teas, and now I am sitting here, sore throat, and I hate the fennel in this pregnancy tea. Sigh. Anybody? It'd be good to start this thread and discuss what we can and cannot be doing when we want tea- or are sick and need it.

I had bronchitis several weeks ago and tried to find info about the same thing with no luck. I ended up buying some red tea with pomegranate and adding lots of lemon juice and honey. It tasted good, and I figured the antioxidants might help a little. I believe it was Republic of Tea brand. Sorry I'm no help. Hope you feel better soon!

I've been drinking weak ginger tea my whole pregnancy, and we're good so far. I also limit how much I have. You could also make your concoction without the ginger if you're worried about it. I think the rest of the items are safe.

Ugh, I'm getting sick again, and I haven't fully recovered from my previous cold. I am drinking red zinger with lots of honey. I don't think I got sick once with ds1, now this is my 3rd time being sick this one and I'm only 11+ weeks pg. Dh says it must be a girl since she's causing me so much trouble already!

I think you could probably go with less than usual of the ginger for your cold tea.

And one tea I've found and used that didn't seem to have anything contraindicated for pregnancy/nursing that helped my colds is Yogi tea Aztec sweet chili (does have some ginger, actually - lots of spicy red and black pepper that helps with congestion).
