Why is my 4mo old eating my face? - Page 2

My DS does it too, mainly when he's hungry or teething. I work full time, and when I come home from work, he throws himself at me and does this to any thing he can get! (usually my shoulders or knees).

Apparently once, he took DP's face between both hands, stuck out his tongue, and licked it from his chin to his nose.

I think I just spontaneously ovulated.

(another MDCer said that once and it cracked me right up)

My DS (5 mos) does this too! I'm excited to see that he's not alone. I lean more towards the signaling hunger or attention than kisses. When he does it, he kind of looks away while he's on my face and then pulls back looking confused. It cracks me up. He occasionally tries to eat DH too but DH has a goatee so he doesn't like it nearly as much.

DS was particularly found of DH's nose, but DD? She likes any part of DS's face.

He freaked out the first time she did it, but once I explained to him that he did the same thing at her age and what it meant? Anytime it happens now he looks over at me with the hugest possible grin on his face and says "Mama! She loves me!"

My almost-6-week-old is a big chomper, too. She usually attacks us, and I mean ATTACKS- head crashing into us, gums a'biting- when she's hungry or wants her paci, but also does it for fun.

It's hilarious. We think she's rabid.

LOVE IT.

DD does this to give kisses, but also when she's trying to nurse and is too tired to realize that the skin she's going after is not a boobie. Especially shoulders.

Awww, baby kisses are the best! My AJ does it all the time. He'll growl like a gremlin and grab my cheeks and give me a big wet one all over my cheeks, chin, nose, eyes..Wherever he can get to. And he'll laugh and laugh while he's doing it.

Baby kisses! Too cute! DD does this, too.

I bet your LO will start! Mine does this too! I kiss her all the time, I think she is kissing me. Although sometimes she is hungry and yet other times I think it is because she is teething. It is so cute, slimy and a bit gross...but I love it! I love the attack face that goes with it...like if she had teeth she would seriously bite my face OFF!

Ds loves to 'kiss' me too! Love it! Although sometimes he gets real excited and grabs onto either side of head, and hair, to pull me closer, and it hurts!!! I think it's part mommy love (I'm always kissing him too) and part teething. He can gnaw pretty hard on my chin! But sooooo cute!

My 8mo has been doing this for some time when he's hungry or tired. It's my cue to put him down or feed him (usually if I got distracted and missed how long it's been). It's really cute He also does it after coming back to me after being held by someone at church, so I think there is some love there too.

Luckysgirl, that is soooo adorable!

Here's a pic of my DS kissing his aunt (I don't think she expected it)

I concur!

My 6 month old still does this. I think it's mostly for fun and because he puts everything in his mouth.

Awww. I'd forgotten about that. As I recall now, it's short-lived. Wish I'd have gotten a pic!

My 3.5 month old just started doing this too! I was thinking it was teething, b/c he is chewing everything in sight lately and drooling like crazy. But I like thinking of it as kissing better! He also tries to suck on my neck, which tickles and makes me laugh every time!

A little late here, but, yes, it is adorable. My heart feels like it's going to explode sometimes.

He's a great big brother. Anytime we're in the car he bends far over to the right so he can hold her hand, and on the subway he talks very softly to her the whole time, just random stories that he makes up about beautiful princesses named Penelope and the adventures she goes on. Even typing this now makes me want to go find them and hold them to my chest.

And that photo is adorable! What a cutie!

He's giving you kisses in the only way he knows how. It could also be that he's hungry and latching on to whatever skin he finds.

Ben does that. We call it Benji-kisses. At 7 months he still loves to chew on my chin and cheeks. I don't love the drooly slobber or the sharp teeth in my chin, but I do think his kisses are adorable.
