favorite brand and type of cloth? need help deciding what to get...

Hi!
I am just wondering if anyone can recommend some diapers for me.
My DS is 6months old and has chubby thighs. I would like the get trim fitting diapers only.
Can anyone tell me:
What's your favorite pocket diaper and why?
What's your favorite AIO and why?
What's your favorite fitted diaper and why?
And what is your favorite type of cloth diaper? I thought I'd like AIOs because of ease of use, but I think fitteds would be good too... I just want something soft and comfy for my baby and (of course absorbent too). I think pockets would be too bulky, but maybe good for nighttime..
Thanks so much I have been reading sooo many reviews and just cannot decide! I got my DS bum-ware, which are trim and absorbent BUT he gets horrible red marks and even scratches on his thighs and all over the front. I am not happy at all with this brand, because who cares if it is absorbent or not if it is cutting my son right... So I need some new brands to try.

I'm not really a fan of either pockets or AIO's, but if I were, I'd probably go with BumGenius. Blue Penguin makes good AIO's too. My favorite fitteds are Mother-ease and Osocozy. My favorite diapers overall are prefolds. I don't care about a trim fit AT ALL though, so I'm probably not the person to ask about my favorites. You might want to try Swaddlebees pockets as those are quite trim.

Thanks, I have never tried prefolds... I'm new to cloth so they just seem complicated to me right now, but if I do have another baby I plan to try them in the beginning. I just want something trim for going out and that would fit over his jeans and other slim clothes. I don't mind the bulkyness for just staying home.

For the thigh issue, I would recommend side-snapping dipes. The trimmest side-snapping AIO is Bottombumpers. Trimmest side-snapping pocket is Green Acre Designs or Knickernappies One-Size.

I favorite dipes are my BabyKicks Organic Fitteds. It is a os fitted with a pocket. I love that I can stuff it with whatever I want and it is the most absorbent AND trim diaper I've ever used (next to my hemp prefolds). It can also be used as a training pant and I've been using it on my youngest since he was 3 days old w/o leaks or bulk. It has side snaps too

My favorite diaper is Gro Baby. In fact, it's the only one I use. It holds up all night with just one doubler and contains all the messes. I like that you can reuse the shell. I only reuse it though if there's no poopy because it generally gets on the shell, but it never leaves the shell!

I think you would be very happy with the BumGenius deluxe AIOs. They are not much bulkier than a disposable. They do need to be changed more often than disposables (generally at least every 2-3 hours), as is true for most cloth diapers. They are easy to line-dry and give babies an exceptionally squishy, soft bum.

The bum-ware do have really intense velcro, and used to mark up my baby as well. I didn't like them for the same reason (they worked fine).

Thank you! I have been looking at Bottombumpers and Bum Genius AIOS so maybe I will go ahead and try those. And I will look at all the other ones suggested as well.
