nicknames for Charlotte?

We named our boys with nicknames in mind (Samuel and Maxwell), and actually only call them by their nicknames. I like that they have that option of either.
I really love the name Charlotte but can't find a nickname from it that I like. Lottie is one which isn't bad. My son's friend is named Charlotte, and close friends call her Char-Char.

Any other nicknames from Charlotte?

Add in Louise for mn and you get to add Lou to any of the above. When she was born my then 2 yo called her Chuck Weed but that was outgrown.

ETA Louise became Weed. It amy be hard to see if you don't have a 2 yo handy but that is what happened.

I love the name Charlotte, but DH vetoed it for this baby. I would have called her Charlie for short, which I think is so cute. But there are so many possibilities. It's nice to have so many options so you can call her what fits her personality.

I knew a Charlotte and she went by Char (like "shar") most of the time.

Charlie and Lottie are two other nicknames, according to my baby names book.

I have a Charlotte. We don't usually use a nickname for her. If anyone ever affectionately shortens her name up, it's pretty much exclusively Charlie, though.

My friend has a Lottie and I think it's really cute.

My MIL was a Charlene and they call her Char - except by the time I met her she was using her middle name, Michele, as her name, so I called her Michele. But her brother stilled called her Char. [passed away from breast cancer 2 yrs ago ]

Well, Lolita is listed as a potential nickname in my baby name book, but you probably want to avoid that one.

I love the name Charlotte--too bad DH doesn't like that one.

If this baby is a girl her name will be Charlotte Grace and we will pretty much exclusively call her "Charlie". I also like that she has the option of choosing Charlotte at some point if she wants, or any other nickname in the bunch.

I think Charlotte is a lovely name on its own. I wouldn't shorten it.

I agree that it is completely lovely. For our boys, we knew we would almost completely call them by their nicknames. Infact, I think we had to teach them their full names.
For this future one, we would call her by her full name most of the time, but with the option of a nickname.

Thanks for all of the input. I really like Charlie and Lottie (wasn't sure about it for a while.)

We talked about Charlotte Louise (Louise is my mom's middle name - which she always hated, so for me it had negative feelings). I like how it sounds and I like the connection to my mom. Her first name is Emma (everyone always calls her Emmy), and I wanted to use that as a mn, but we can't find something that works.
