Are old, leaking Bummis wraps now trash?

I have had some Bummis wraps that have been through three kids - I am a big fan. Now, however, they just have given up their ability to hold in wetness. Do they just go in the trash or is there anything else that they can be used for? Any creative ideas? As much as they have saved many a disposable diaper from going to the landfill, I feel bad about sending them to the landfill.

I know how you feel! I had two diapers that delaminated which made them useless. I gave them to my 7yo niece to use on her doll babies as diapers. She LOVES them, lol. It's truly amazing. I'm so glad I found something to do with them because they were just sitting around the house for months before I realized she could play with them.

You could try posting them free as long as the other person is willing to pay shipping. Some people need to buy them to make their own pattern, or just for figuring out what fits.

Do you normally dry them in the dryer or air dry? I've heard of folks "re-sealing" their PUL covers by putting them in the dryer on hot for 1 or 2 cycles. That's if you air dry, if you use the dryer already just ignore me.

you can purchase some waterproofing spray and reclaim them.

go to the camping aisle at wal-mart or target and buy the waterproofing spray. it's super easy and quick and works fabulously. definitely do it outside because the chemical smell definitely fries brain cells but it's worth it to rehab the covers. i've done it tons of times and it works great.
