Rolling over during light sleep

It seems that lately my baby can't stop rolling over to his tummy when he is in his 'light' sleep! He's 4 1/2 months old, and has already mastered rolling over, so I don't think it's that he's trying to get some practice in during the night...

But now when we sleep together, I have to sleep with him wedged up against me to stop him from rolling over during the night! He sleeps swaddled, and will free himself, then roll over and then wake up and look around.

Does anyone know why he might be doing this? Should I just let him roll over, even though it wakes him up?

As soon as my DS could roll over onto his tummy, he wouldn't stop! He did it in his sleep, in the swaddle, all the time. There was nothing we could do to stop it. We ended up not swaddling him anymore at night, and now his tummy is his preferred sleep position. I think he was just trying to make himself more comfortable. If it wakes your LO up but you cosleep, could you try rubbing or patting his back and making "shhhh" noises once he's on his belly? Maybe that will help lull him back to sleep.
