Disana tie-on dimensions?

Can someone give up the dimensions of the Disana tie-on one-size dipes?

I'm going to make t-shirt tie-ons, tho I'd rather have the beautiful cozy organic disanas. I just want some freebie dipes for the newborn stash. I may double up two t-shirts and just sew them together around the edges, if I'm really motivated I may sew in a liner in between.

Anybody have the approximate dimensions of front tab/back, and height?

Otherwise I will just trace a sposie and go from there. I have no dipes for my stash yet! And the t-shirt tie-ons seem like a pretty good place to start.

I can measure it for you, but they're HUGE on a NB. I tried them a few times when he was tiny and it was far too much bulk. He's almost 4 months, and they just now fit without too much bulk, although they still have to be folded down considerably.

They're Y shaped, 15 inches at the top, 8 at the bottom. The neck of the Y is 10 inches from the top, the ties are down another 8 inches, and the leg is then folded back to the beginning, so another 18 inches.

Thanks, cristeen!

I made my first t-shirt tie on last night. I think that it may be really hard to make dipes before the babe is here---I have no idea what will fit around baby's tiny butt!

But I do feel like I need to get a move on; we have like one shirt, a hat I crocheted and some little slippers.

One thing about the Disana nappies - they have a huge amount of stretch horizontally across the width of the dipe, and that is necessary in order to get a good fit and containment. The wide part of the Y goes under the baby, and then you stretch it up and around to the crotch, pull the leg of the Y up and stretch it out and around. That stretch around the thighs is giving you your poo containment.

I'll also say that they need to be stuffed with something to be absorbent. I had my little guy sitting on my knee this morning wearing a Disana that was stuffed with a trifolded willowsprouts prefold (so 6 layers of hemp). He peed right through it - soaked my pants and the floor. That particular prefold is super absorbent, it just couldn't contain the stream of pee fast enough. Usually I stuff his Disanas with a UTN prefold in angel wings fold or a Hemparoo stuffer and both of those can handle it.
