wipe warmer refill pillows?

We use a wipes warmer for cloth wipes. The replacement pillows say they are supposed to be changed every 3 months...does anyone know why? It doesn't seem to wear out...?

We had one for sposie wipes and the pillow would turn brown over time...

mine would actually look mildew-y in two days even though that is what it was supposed to prevent. I threw it out and don't use one. Now I only put the liquid in the warmer and dip dry wipes in as needed.

I stopped using the pillow right away...whatever is in there gave my daughter insta-rash, and she doesn't have sensitive skin. I just clean the warmer out with alcohol when it's empty (every 3 days or so).

Umm, guess that's not answering the op's question. I suppose all the mildew fighting junk gets used up over time? I would just replace it when your wipes start to smell mildewy.

The wipes warmer I had with my DD had a "pillow" and it would turn brown and stinky over time, so I'd replace it. The one we got for this new guy doesn't have one, and I'm sort of curious what the purpose was anyway...

This is how I've been doing it since DS was a newborn, and it's worked fine. I always just threw the little pillows away, never used them.
