milk supply down after stomach illness

Thread Starter
I had the stomach flu from Thursday night to Saturday night, vomiting and diarrhea for almost 18 hours. DD didn't nurse at all Thursday night, a few times Friday during the day, not at all Friday night, and then sort of normal (8+ times) on Saturday.

She is 21 months old so we've been nursing for a while, but my breasts feel totally deflated and I do not hear her swallowing like she used to. I know it can take a few days for my milk supply to come back up, but I'm getting worried! I've been nursing her as much as possible, but she only nurses a few times at night. I don't feel my letdown, although I know it happens cause she does swallow more at that point. But overall there is definitely not as much milk. I can also feel her getting frustrated (especially when I am putting her to sleep at night).

Thoughts? All the usual stuff for building milk supply?

Thanks in advance.

We're just getting over the stomach flu here too.

I do think my supply is down a bit, though with how often dd is latched it should come back quickly. I'm not doing anything special other than making sure to drink lots of water since I know I'm a bit dehydrated from all the vomiting and diarrhea.

Hope ya'll feel better soon.
