3 yr old--rash around mouth--concern?

3 Yr old DD gets a rash around her mouth (little, non-raised, red) when certain foods touch her face.

So far I've noticed it with

--fresh pineapple

--eggplant

--orange juice

Dh says the same thing happens to his brother with eggplant. I know fresh pineapple has *always* done this to her. I *don't* recall oranges or OJ doing it before, but it could be because we've had all these things in a week's time? And I hardly ever have OJ anyway so it could be I forgot.

Doesn't seem to bother her at all. These foods don't seem to affect her any other way. concern?
(other than making sure if she goes to preschool, they get warned...)

I know (because my son is allergic) that a couple of those fall in the potential of Oral Allergy Syndrome. The eggplant doesn't to my knowledge. (edit: I looked it up and I think it too can do that).

My son is skin prick positive to anything that does that to his face and in reading I believe a child can have gastro symptoms as the food continues to provoke histamine when ingested. If she's allergic (vs. her skin is just sensitive to the acid or something) you want to know and I'd pursue testing.

I'm leaning toward "acid sensitive skin" just because she doesn't have any other symptoms with it, and DH's brother has the same thing with eggplant, he's an adult I guess he would know if it did other stuff to him.

I am going to ask Dh what he thinks though and I'll probably mention it to her ped.
