I have a 22 month old who can now take off all his clothes and a dirty diaper. He will use the toilet if I am on him all the time. how do go about transitioning him to underwear...just blam cold turkey or cloth or what? We did elimination communication when he was a baby up until 13-18 mon but then my house flooded and I switched to the dreaded disposable. I am in my first trimester and am tired of cleaning poop off the floor. (thats when I get distracted and do not catch him.) Any advice or guidance would be great. He can get on the big toilet by himself. He won't touch the baby b'jorn one.

My ds went through a very similar stage, completely refusing diapers, after two months of refusing to potty and wearing disposable diapers when we were out or at night. So I was lining his underwear with a single folded flat cloth diaper. He didn't put up with that for long. So, I did have to watch him for the potty sign day and night. Our blessing was that he dislikes being messy, so he was always relieved to get to the potty on time. It was stressfull for everyone for a week or two, then he got the hang of it. Hope it goes smoothly for you.
