persistent cough?

Has anyone ever had a persistent cough while pregnant with no other symptoms?

I've had a cough for two months now. It has been like a tickle that invokes a cough reflex until the past few days... now it is accompanied by asthmatic symptoms (wheezing/mucous), but only a little in the morning.

I've seen two doctors who believe it is caused by pregnancy-induced reflux. They said no other symptoms is common with reflux. They advised me to make another appointment if it didn't go away after I delivered.

But I feel helpless... the reflux protocol doesn't seem to be helping (and I don't want to take a reuptake inhibitor). I'm miserable with all the coughing, and the poor baby probably doesn't like it either. To top it all off, I pee when I have the coughing fits, so I'm going through an enormous number of pads! Help!

I have had a cough/tickle in my throat that is definately related to pregnancy reflux. If I take one Tums it is gone almost instantly. Maybe just try taking a Tums or two to see if it helps give you an answer to the "what is causing this?" question. There are other natural options (papaya enzyme, apple cider vinegar) that you could try for the reflux before taking a medication too. I just need the instant relief of Tums when I am at work or in the middle of the night. On the other hand, I am GREAT at kegels now
