She likes board games!!!

I just had to share because I'm so happy.

I've been feeling that DD and I have such different interests and personalities, it's been getting hard to relate. Unfortunately the kind of play she wants to do with me makes me die inside (out of boredom).

But suddenly she's into board games!! I loved board games as a kid! It's not that I really wanted to play Candy Land 8 times in a row, but I'm willing to! Then we broke out the old Sorry board and she loved it so much she got up extra early yesterday morning out of pure excitement to play it again

I can share in your excitement. We got Candy Land for ds a few months back, and for Christmas he just got the Go Diego Go numbers game and Memory, which he loves(and they are so much better than Candy Land ). It's a great way to spend time together with you LO's.

DD1 and I are identical personality-wise (as in, we're both opinionated, irritable, demanding people LOL) and we often clash. Actually, we clash all the time. Then we discovered board games, card games, etc. and it's some of the best time we spend together!

Ah, yeah, I can see how same personality can clash too. I was more thinking that she and I have opposite interests for the most part.

She - loves Barbies
Me - hated them even as a kid

She - wants me to hold a doll or animal figure and "talk for it"
Me - would rather stab myself with an ice pick

Me - loves to go the farm, passionate about local food and agriculture
She - hates it and furthermore refuses to eat anything that does not come from the grocery store

Me - nerdy, loves science, math, academics, etc.
She - will go on strike if we do anything remotely resembling those

But fortunately...
Me - liked playing board games as a kid, and always pestered my parents to play with me. They didn't, very often. I was an only child and became adept at playing board games by myself, sigh.
She - loves them too! Yay!
