quick!! caraway substute or not?

you're in the middle of making New York Rye, and you realize you're shy of just over 1t of caraway seeds. Would you move it right along or find some sort of substitute?

do you have ANY caraway? if so, just grind up what you have so that it will impart more flavor.
Caraway is pretty distinct. I don't know of anything you could really substitute with.

Nothing tastes quite like caraway, so I wouldn't sub. Rye is fine with and without it, but something else might be weird.

I'd just move along. Caraway is distinct and I love it but it's also not going to make or break a dish (like, say, leaving out CURRY would).

well, I decided to sub cumin seed.

I guess I should call this San Marcos Rye.

I'll let you know how it turns out. All my kraut making ate up my caraway stash without me noticing.
