Advice on Disneyworld ~ where to buy tickets

Where is the best place to purchase Disneyworld tickets? I will be taking my 5 & 3 year old boys and can only be there for 3 days. I am also wondering if you can purchase individual day tickets (all I have seen is 4-12 day passes), and if they would enjoy Sea World just as much???

Any advice or information you can give would be much appreciated!

Welcome to MDC!!

I would look at your local Costco. Ours sells Disneyland (we are that coast) passes - I think they come with admission to SeaWorld and the San Diego zoo too? Something like that.

Also, Disney sells tickets online so check there.

Even my local Safeway sells them! So I'd just look around for the best price in your area.

You may get a four day pass cheaper than three single day admissions.

generally you are only going to save maybe $3 or $4 a ticket buying them somewhere other than disneyworld itself. That said, you can buy them at the disneystore if you have one near you, disneyworld.com, over the phone from 1-407-WDISNEY, also AAA sells them.
Do you want to park hop - go to more than one park on the same day - like the Magic Kingdom in the morning and Epcot at night? Or stay in the same park all day?

They do sell a 3 day ticket - prices are $233.24 for adults (over 10) and $199.16 for kids 3-9. Under 3 is free. That is for a one day one park ticket
For a 3 day parkhopper it is $288.62 for adults and $254.54 for kids.

Hope that helps!
Here is a good explanation of tickets

We've yet to take DD to sea world, but yes I think your kids would enjoy it.

Go to http://www.mousesavers.com/ and sign up for their newsletter -- it will have a link to their partner site which had the lowest prices for Disney tickets that I found. The last time I used them was just over two years ago.

You can get free tickets through Disney's current promotion: Give a Day, Get a Day. If you volunteer at one of their approved organizations for a day, you get a ticket to Disney for free. We just signed up for that.
Lots of good info on another thread on MDC over on the Frugality and Finances forum.
Good luck and have fun at the house of mouse!

I read a bunch of reviews for Sea World and they were almost unanimously positive. The tickets there are 2 days for the same price as one, and there's a discount if you buy online. I think for just one day it would be pricey, but if you can do both it's reasonable.

We're going in April and spending 2 days at SW and one day in the Magic Kingdom. Some corporations get discounted tickets, check with friends and family. DH gets our Disney tickets at work.

When we went (10 years ago) places were selling half used multi-day passes. I guess if people couldn't use all the days they sold them to dealers who would resell them to other people who just needed a day or two. I can't say where exactly you can get them, but they were advertized.

I highly recommend Universal Studios.

This doesn't work anymore. Not only can you not verify that the claimed number of days are actually on the ticket, but the tickets are now associated with your finger geometry and can't be transferred.

Are you staying on property or in a hotel with a nice pool area? If so, I would probably aim to hit the park 2 days and have a pool day the other day. I think it would be hard to do 3 days in a row with a 3 & a 5 year old! (I know, not what you asked, but just thought I would mention it!)

You can buy tickets on Disneyworld's website, or just wait til you get there and buy them at the park.

When are you planning on going? For the past 4-5 years, Disney has offered a free dining promotion from late August - early October (you have to stay on Disney property and buy at least a one day park ticket to qualify). It is a FANTASTIC deal!

Let me know if you have any other questions - we are in Tampa and season pass holders, so we go often!

There's also a discussion in the Frugality and Finances board right now.

My ds who is 2.5 loooves seaworld, we had a season pass last year (expired at the end of the year) and went maybe 8 times. He really liked all of the shows and in the kids area he could go on most of the rides (he is really short!). The rest of the rides though are for older kids (rollercoasters, the water rides).

We took him to Disney once and he can go on everything there except a few things. He isnt scared of people dressed up so had a good time with the characters. Its more expensive than seaworld (the ticket, food, 'stuff'), and a LOT more people there, plus it is pretty overwhelming to do all in one day (we are florida residents so have 4 chances to go with the tickets we got).

I always buy our tickets online, on their website. Dont buy them at the park, you will have to wait in line for a lot longer!

Universal is fun, but for small kids there isnt a whole lot they can unless you want to stay in the Dr. suess thing all day. The shows are a little scary for some (not my ds, but a lot of other kids!), and its not nearly as 'kid friendly' as other parks. Animal kingdom is really great if the kids like animals
