Bind breasts for job interview? - Page 2

I agree with hand expressing for your comfort.

As to selecting clothing: get the tail of your shirt wet with some expressed bm - what does it look like wet and dry? Rayon is horrid, cotton is not great, wool or a tech fiber would be the best bet as would a print. Waterproof nursing pads and a padded bra for discretion also help.

Ugh, I'll avoid any type of talk about the correctness of it all...

don't do it!

i wouldn't bind them. i would try to find a manual pump, and put it in your purse. the medela bags, if you have any, are pretty small-- all that could fit in your bag.
your interviewers should offer you breaks! when we do interviews like that at my academic institution, we offer candidates the chance to go and just think, be alone, use the phone, computer, etc. they REALLY should offer.
if not, like pp said, just do it in the bathroom if you can. i understand not telling people about that- i've been passed up for a promotion in the past for the same kind of thing-- having been out of work for a miscarriage and related problems-- and it's not legal, or right, but it is not in your favor to present it up front. however, hopefully, when you get the job, everyone will embrace you, your family, and your commitment to breastfeeding. GL!

I've done the crazy interview day for what was actually a very family friendly job. I wasn't nursing at the time, but I get the intensity of the day.

I would find a small pump and just pump a bit and dump whenever you get a bathroom break. With any luck one of your meetings will be late and you can snag a few extra minutes that way.

I have a small manual, the harmony, and when I'm full I can fill 5 oz in 5 min, so bring one with you, take a couple restroom breaks and you'll be comfy. If you don't know how to hand express, it might not work. O ptrny 2- plus minutes on rock hard breasts before and only got drops. Of course wear good nursing pads and have extra clothes too just in case.
