Burp cloth prefolds as pocket diaper inserts?

I have about 3 dozen of these, the "cloth diapers" they sell at Babies R Us and other big stores. Peepers isn't spitting up anymore, so it's time to either donate them or figure out an alternate use for them. I don't sew, but I could hand-stitch if needed.

So...are they absorbent enough to be used as inserts?

TIA!

cut one open & see if the middle is foam or layers of fabric. If it is foam (I have a bunch of gerber ones like this) then it is not absorbant enough. If it is layers of fabric then you can trifold it & use it as an insert.

I have one Gerber prefold that is very obviously different from my standard prefolds. When it has batting in the center panel, it doesn't quilt up like regular prefolds do, it's not nearly as absorbent, and it just feels a little "off" to me. If that's what you have, you'd be better off repurposing them to be mops.
