What do you do when you're traveling with someone else?

I'm going to be traveling with another family for a few days (staying at a place we're renting together) and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on meals. I suspect they may want to do things like pizza and pasta because it's easy. There's also the issue of food transportation because we want to take most of our food with us (it's a pain to buy where we are going and expensive) so the food would need to be packed in an ice chest and be ok for approx. 3 hour drive.

Any ideas on things I could suggest we make that would be both easy (not a ton of ingredients) but at least slightly-TF? I also could probably make some things in advance if they are easy to transport. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I don't know about the first part of your question, but when I drive to travel I bring all my food. Sometimes I make a baked oatmeal ahead of time or a casserole with potatos, egg, meat and cheese for breakfast. Lunch is usually something easier. I bring meat, eggs, cheese and sprouted grain bread. I have made a roast and sweet potatoes ahead of time and had salad. These kept my family going for almost 5 days. Also, I always make burgers on a trip.

A healthy lunch meat with healthy bread makes tf sandwiches, or a nut butter with organic jam, etc. Fruits and vaggies are quick easy eating..pack apples, pears, carrots, etc. I you'll be cooking there, bring rice pasta instead of wheat, and some organic canned sauce...probably noone will even notice.
