Can we talk about herd immunity?

Thread Starter
I have heard all about herd immunity, tons of information in support of it, from mainstream sources..... Is there any good information that disproves the herd immunity theory? Thanks

I can't link to it directly.

Click on "Past Scandals" on the left-hand side.

Scroll down and click on "Is the theory of herd immunity flawed?"

Scroll down to the paragraph that starts with "Another possible problem is..." and clicking on the links in that one will take you to lists of studies.

Hope that helps.

There is another thread about this on this forum, fairly recent.

I always tell people we are not cows, so how can this be?

The herd theory is used to bully parents with guilt who do not vaccinate when the scaremongering stories do not work.

Just look at the some of the vaccines...they were not designed to create "herd immunity." IPV does not contribute to it. Diphtheria vaccine is a toxoid...meant to produce immunity to the toxins produced by the bacteria, not the bacteria itself. Pertussis...the Israel study demonstrating infections and carriage of pertussis bacteria in fully vaccinated kids. Mumps...check the number of fully vaxed kids during a recent outbreak in the States.

The mumps vaccine was supposed to create herd immunity. It hasn't worked.

On the other three, they never had the capability, which makes all the "vax for herd" rants which mention those vaccines a big joke.
