TMI? My yoni hurts. Advice?

This morning during my shower, I felt a bit itchy down there. When I went to pee after the shower, it burned just a little. I looked in a mirror and I was very red, and it kind of hurts and itches at the same time.

I started cranberry, acidophilus, and extra C, and I put some plain yogurt on it, topically, but is there anything I'm missing? Does this sound like a UTI (not painful to pee, though, and no lessening of urine at all) or something else? It's been so freakishly long since I've had issues with That, that I am utterly clueless!

Help?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a UTI.. although besides cranberry juice, I don't know any other natural remedies, hopefully somebody will give you some advice. I got one before and went to the docs.. they gave me a medicate that was sulpher *sp*

I have never had a UTI before, but I have had a yeast infection. It hurt a lot and was very red down there. Also it burned when I peed, but the burning was when the urine hit the outter area *sorry for having my own TMI here *.

Any discharge? I usually don't have any with a yeast infection but some people do.

No, no discharge. Yet... *sigh*. It doesn't smell funny or anything. It only burns on the outside when I pee, too. And I have normal urine output. I had a yeast infection when I was 17, and I had lots of discharge, then.
I guess I'm doing all the right things, then?

I so do not want to go see anyone...I have no insurance I hope I can heal this on my own. Echinacea and C, too? Ya think?

From what my Mom is saying, when she has a UTI it hurts from inside when she pees, not so much from when it touches the outside. So maybe it is a yeast infection. I would avoid sugar. Wipe with ACV and keep applying the yogurt, maybe insert some if possible. And eat some yogurt too to get your gut in line.

sounds like yeast to me.

Try adding baking soda to your bath water and nothing else. That will help ease the pain and itching. Plain yogurt feels cool am calming on the outside. I wear a panty liner when I've put some on the outside. If you want to out some inside then you can fill a tampon applicator with it and toss the actual tampon out and insert the yogurt with the applicator. Your fingers will probably work better though.

I had some random itching a while back (I think it was probably a yeast issue). Anyways, I would wipe with witch hazel after peeing, and then apply vit E oil after that to ease discomfort and aid in healing the red/ inflamed areas. Really helped. Also would rinse with ACV in the shower.

hth and that you are better soon

OWIE on the ACV. Tried that this morning and it buuuuurrrrrrrrned....ow. Not going to do that again!
Yogurt feels good, and soothing. Taking acidophilus caps and extra C and will pick up some echinacea after class this afternoon. Oh, and cranberry gelcaps, too. Must remember to drink extra water. Not ingesting sugar. Anything else?

Argh. This sux!

I had this a while back and what I did was mix some virgin coconut oil (which has anti yeast properties) with some tea tree oil and beeswax( for staying power but if you don't have beeswax, just the oils are fine) and I applied this all over the outside and then I put some coconut oil and tea tree on a minipad and wore that as well to keep the area covered with the mixture. It worked really well.

Grapefruit seed extract works well too. You can mix this in with the coconut oil and tea tree oil.

You don't need much - just a few drops of each. The coconut oil is so soothing. But, it must be virgin coconut oil.

I had to go back to Planned Parenthood today to ask about pills, and while I was there, they recommended boric acid
I thought that was for eyes and roaches. But there's a local lady who makes suppositories of that and sells it at the local co-op. So I went there and bought a bit in bulk, and some empty capsules, and it cost me under $2 and I'm going to try that. Both suppositories and a topical paste.

I'll let y'all know how it turns out

Thanks! I'll keep the coconut oil in mind if this doesn't help.

Maybe I'll try that too, if the boric doesn't work. I think there's garlic in the fridge

I used boric acid a few years back. My partner and I were having too much fun and passing the yeast back and forth. It worked great for me. It's cheap and the only thing I didn't like about it was the, ahem *discharge*.
