questions about pockets

We are just venturing into pockets a little bit to see how we like them. We are trying both bG 3.0's and FB's. My question is do you routinely use both inserts that come with the dipe at the same time? We have been using fitteds and organic cotton flips, so the microfiber inserts just feel kind of thin to me. Are they supposed to be more absorbent? Also do you ever use the microfiber insert as a doubler in a fitted (we have mostly bamboo fitteds) or is the microfiber not supposed to be next to babe's skin? TIA!

MF cannot go next to baby's skin.

Most babies are fine with just 1 insert, and you can add the other at night if you need it.

Thanks! He just spent 4 hrs in a FB with 1 insert (due to an unexpected and very long nap!) and it worked great!
