Does anyone have a baby hammock? what do you think of it? i found some for pretty cheap on ebay that include a stand, which we need because we will be moving shortly after my lo is born (we are renting now), but i don't want to waste the money if they are no good..

I have a Kanoe--I spent way too much on it, and my baby sleeps much better if she's next to me. They rent them out by the week, so I really wish I had tried it out before buying!

We have an Amby hammock bed, but only used it a few times and then it was recalled (a couple of babies died in them!). Like the PP, my baby sleeps much better next to me than he ever did in the Amby.

we have a ghodiyu, and love it. It's the only way I could shower or poop or sleep.

We had a Hushamok, and ended up selling it. DS slept with us from the get go. I should have waited to see how things went, because I didn't (and still don't!) want him sleeping anywhere other than beside/on me.

We have an arms reach- he spent 1 nap in it. Passing it along to SIL.

I have an arm's reach. I bought it after she was born in the hopes it would make her nap for longer. No luck. It is a pleasant device and she doesn't hate it. But it is hard to place her in it after she is asleep without her waking up. She's just a very light and sensitive sleeper. Although I think this thing is a great idea that could work for some, we definitely haven't gotten our money's worth. If you can borrow one from a friend or otherwise "try before you buy," I'd recommend that!

I made my own in an attempt to get Wyatt to sleep some place other than my arms. Didn't work and it currently resides in the attic. Glad I didn't spend more than $10 and a few hours making it!
