Beautiful, incredibly healing VBAC 15 months after an emergent cesarean!

I DID IT! I still can't really believe it but I DID IT! And..it was wonderful wonderful wonderful.

I tell you honestly, the recovery period since then has been SO much better than after the cesarean - my hoo-ha has been sore and swollen, yes, but I'd take that any day over not being able to stand up straight and the "cut in half" feeling.

I'd been meaning to post this here for some time, so I do apologize. I am still rather in shock that I left the hospital on foot two days after my amazing, normal and for the most part, natural birth with my child. For those of you who don't know me, I lost my daughter, my firstborn, Josie, in October of 2008 due to placental abruption. We tried to save her, you see, in an emergent cesarean under general anesthetic and the entire situation was just very traumatic.

For anyone wanting a VBAC, I say "GO FOR IT!" It's the most incredible rush. No sign of the baby blues around here - it's been eight whole days and I feel great, Isobella is doing great and has put on 3ox over her birth weight already! Happy baby, happy mama! Here is the full birth story, plus pics:

Much love to you all! XxXxX

Congrats again mamma!

I can't blame you for getting something for pain management, I probably would have if it had been available. But you're seriously so lucky you could birth in a hospital with VBAC-friendly HPCs! Thats so cool you were still able to feel her coming down and the ejection reflex!

Enjoy every second with your precious little baby, don't be afraid to hold, smell, and nuzzle her constantly, and give her your breast every chance you get! Motherhood is pure bliss!!

Thank you SO MUCH everyone! I remember first posting in this forum when I'd just lost Josie and wanted to know about VBAC and the time in between pregnancies. And here I am and have done it, a mortal woman - just a mortal woman! I really am still amazed I did it! I can't say enough how worth it every second of planning and birthing was, compared to the experience I had before!

Anyway will stop babbling now - I have a babbling baby on the nursing pillow next to me who surely wants the other boob
