Ovarian cyst pain ... wtf is going on?

I have a cyst on my ovary (I honestly forget what kind, and god forbid my OB give me an info sheet. I'm calling tomorrow.) that was about an inch in diameter 9 months ago. It hurts a couple of times a month, whatever, but today has been different.

When I cough, I get a stabbing pain where the cyst is. What does this mean? Am I crazy?

It could be several different things depending on the type of cyst. The cyst may have ruptured as well. It's best to get it checked out. I had to have one of my ovaries removed because of a cyst.
