Faint blue line on test ?

Hi All,

I just took a 'Crystal Clear' Preg test and its shows a positive blue line but it is so faint I can barely see it. It is definitely blue though, looks just like the other line, but very pale.
Yesterday I took one and it was also pale.
What does it mean to be so faint?

I have a 2 y/o daughter, and I'm with a new partner now (we are both fertile) and we are trying to have a baby together. This is the first month we are trying. Today is the day of my menstral cycle due date- I have had minor cramping all week, swollen breasts/mood/discharge all the symptoms ect...
so if I was pregnant I'd only be about 2 weeks along.

Should we get excited or not take any notice and wait another week or two?

its likely faint because its so soon. Im not sure the sensitivity of those but I do not really like any blue line test... if you are getting a line on those, you could easily take a First Response Early Result (NOT rapid result) tonight and get a nice line that will convince you for sure!

It means you are most likely pregnant! A line is a line is a line!

Seriously, it probably just means it is pretty early...if you keep taking tests, they usually get darker.

Congratulations!!

BTW, sometime you'll get an evaporation line which might look like a positive but not really be....but evap lines are generally colorless, and may or may not be straight, centered, etc. So if it's the right color (even pale) and in the right place, then it's pretty much safe to have an official celebration!

I got a faint positive this time last year! Looks like you will be part of the 2010 October due date club! My baby was due October second of last year. How exciting for you!

Take a pink test. So many people get "positive" blue lines on them, some pretty dark and they aren't pregnant. They are notorious.

Hopefully you're pregnant and a pink test will confirm it for you!

I will be buying another brand that is sensitive to detect low levels, I just want to know for sure! Thanks for all the positive comments.

If you're going out to buy a different type of test, make sure it's a pink dye! It's a lot easier to tell a real BFP.

Get a First Response Early Results test - they are very sensitive and show up pink. I don't trust blue dye tests either - I've seen many women get faint blue lines on them and not be pregnant. FRERs are AWESOME though!

Yay, congrats!! I had a "yeah it's sort of a line, but is it really??" reaction just like you with my first test. It came in a two pack so I took a second... same thing. It was so so so faint that I couldn't help but be dubious, but the packaging did say "any line at all is a positive."
I still was skeptical and so was DH so we ended up buying the pink kind - which turned bright, candy pink right away. So I guess they're serious, any line is a positive!
I've gotten teased for doing THREE pregnancy tests before the first doctor's appointment, but when you're in shock, it can be hard to believe something so light is a +!
Oh, and I should note too that I took mine just a day or two after my period was due, and I had had so much cramping and breast tenderness, etc., like normal PMS that I thought I was taking it to be sure I wasn't pregnant... I thought for sure I would know when I was!

dont feel bad, I took over 30 before I saw my doctor for the confirmation and am nearing 50 but have yet to have my first actual appointment.

Positive.

I took a pink dye test (the $ tree ones) and it was super faint--I had to wiggle it around to see the line. Got a digital one. Took that test 30 seconds to decide yes!

THANKYOU.

I bought a pink dye one yesterday- still come back faint as anything lol
But I ALSO bought 2 CLEARBLUE, and waited until this morning and got a STRONG positive line!!!

IM PREGNANT! We can officially celebrate now.

SO a line IS a line, then. I just KNEW I was.

Congrats to you Mama!! I also had faint lines before a FRER gave me a good stong immediate line. Enjoy your pregnancy!!
