We will be moving in the next couple of weeks from England to Las Vegas (military family), so the flight will be very long with a layover. I'm wondering what to dress my DD in. I have a couple of those one piece, long sleeve rompers from Old Navy that snap up the legs. Or I have a bunch of long sleeve onesies with separate cotton pants. I can't decide which would be easier? Any suggestions? I want to make sure she's comfortable and warm (but not hot) and that diaper changes will be easy. Any ideas would be helpful. TIA!!

How about a cotton sleeper with feet and a zipper? You could layer it on top of a onesie + tights if it's really cold on the plane, or remove layers if it's too warm. I agree with the PP, snaps might be too much on a plane, especially with a wiggly 6-7 month old. But IME, pants are a lot of trouble, too - you take them off and have to set them somewhere during the diaper change, then they fall down and you have to go find them again... etc. Plus, baby pants always seem to ride up and leave an exposed length of skin on their legs that gets terribly cold. I end up putting leg warmers and socks and shoes on my LO when she wears pants, which is a huge PITA when you're trying to do a diaper change in a cramped space.
We did a long train trip when DD was 5 months, and I think a simple cotton sleeper was definitely easier than anything else for easy diaper changes in the tiny bathrooms.

I've flown with DD a few times. I like having her in cotton t-shirts (long sleaves) and pants. No snaps. That way if the diaper leeks the t-shirt is still fine. Pull on pants are quick to pull off and on a wiggly baby. Have a pair of babylegs handy if you think his legs might get cold. You don't have to take them off and on during diaper changes. I always felt like cotton softness was good for long trips.
Good luck!

Do you know if you're flying on a military or commercial flight (my DH and I are military)? The military flights can be pretty chilly, so bring layers
. We've done 4 overseas flights with our DD and what always has worked is a long sleeve onesie and easy to pull on cotton (or fleece) pants. Good luck!

DS has done transatlantic flights with rompers but we like the overall/long-sleeved onesie combination best. We actually like snaps better on the road and in the air because we don't have to undress him all the way unless there's a blowout.
For added warmth, we usually take a sleep sack for him. If you do fly commercial and your baby is under 20 lbs, ask for a bassinet. That will get you a bulkhead seat and allows the baby to sleep in between layovers.
