Are Private Schools Required to Request Vax Records?

I know they can't deny exemptions if they get government money, but do they have to ask for the records at all if they are completely private?

I am still hoping to homeschool dd, who will be 5 in September, but I'm a single mama so I'm exploring options.

It depends on the state. Many states require private schools to follow vaccine law (which includes exemptions); at least one (NJ) allows religious schools to reject religious exemptions. It is a good idea to read the vaccine law from a government source and not just the excerpts provided here.
