and will now be homeschooling through a local charter school. My son is 6 almost 7 and in 1st grade. He has loved school until recently. He has a "personality conflict" with his teacher to put it mildly. She yells at him, is overly harsh in discipline, etc. We requested a teacher change and they are unwilling to do it, so we are enrolling him in the charter school and he will be "truant" (according to the public school) u8ntil he is enrolled. This situation sucks, but I have to protect my son.
With that said, I never thought I'd be a homeschooler. In theory, I loved the idea, In practice, I was nevr sure I could do it, and now, here I am! I'm sure I'll be around for support and lots of questions!

I see you're in Ca. (us too). What did you tell the school when you pulled him out? Did you tell them he was going to be homeschooled?

Congratulations on your start of a wonderful journey.
