I was wondering if that would be comfy for baby... the legs so wide apart. Or tug the legs in like in the moby lotus front face carry? Has anyone tried this ith the BH?

Forward facing with a mei tai is tricky. Most mei tais have a wide body and are too bulky to squish. Then the other factor is that forward facing isn't easily ergonomic. Many babywearers will recommend against it, saying that carriers are best for holding baby in positions that you would otherwise use your arms for (in terms of natural positioning and comfort). I personally disagree... I mean, how many people hold their babies on their backs? lol. And I've been known to walk around with DD2 forward facing in front of me, while in-arms. That said, you will want to make sure that baby is 'sitting' rather than crotch-dangling, and she's leaning back against you as opposed to leaning forward (the latter would be detrimental to your balance and likely to give you aches and pains if not injury).
That said, there are a couple of mei tais that can accommodate front forward facing. If memory serves, the CatBird Baby is one such. (Or, you could use a string or ribbon and cinch the body so your baby's legs aren't doing the work.)

I think the issue with front facing is that the baby isn't able to 'get away' from overstimulation. I've read a lot of recommendations that say to not wear your baby facing out for that reason. That way, the baby can see the person who is wearing them and look away from overstimulation if needed. They can still look all around when facing in

I don't have a problem with FFO per se, as long as you're paying attention to baby so that if/when she becomes overstimulated, you can pop her out and face back in. I have met many, many babies who are very social and LOVE the FFO position, and given that we're a naturally social species, I don't find that surprising at all!
That said, my concerns with it are for the parent's ergonomics -- even with the best baby carrier it's not going to last forever. So it's best to mix things up and carry FFI sometimes, FFO sometimes, on the hip, and on the back, so that baby is flexible about which ways she'll be carried.
I don't really like MTs for FFO though -- the CatBird and Silly Goose are the easiest to do it with, but I don't think most MTs are easy/comfortable to do FFO in even with the base cinched. I think a wrap or a hybrid buckle carrier like the Pikkolo are better bets for an easy/ergonomic FFO for both parent and baby.
