What Vaccines Are Under Development?

It's a rare vaccine that gets patented and doesn't end up "required." I'm wondering what the CDC schedule might like years from now. Some time ago, somebody here posted a link to a potential vaccine schedule 10 years into the future. It was staggering! I wish I would have bookmarked it.

I know that there is work being done on a diabetes vaccines (not sure whether Type I or II, probably II) and HIV/AIDS. Any others that you know about?

There are a LOT that are currently under development. I don't think they'll all be mandated - things like dengue fever and leprosy and legionnaires disease probably aren't going to hit the mandate list. I can't find a good list right now, but I know that I read a while back that Merk alone had several in the works.

I read they are trying to develop one for the common cold and it will only cover 2 strains. I wish I would have bookmarked it. What a useless rediculous vaccine.

HIV is a biggie. Seems there are about 23 vaccines in development right now

I did a little searching and found this little gem. Obesity. It's official, girls. I've truly heard it all.

Can you imagine some of the rhetoric that we're going to hear? "Parents forget what it was like back in the days when people got fat. To deny this vaccine to your children is negligent and irresponsible."

"What about herd immunity? Children who haven't had this vaccine will gorge on creamsicles, which will put others at risk of obesity because what if other children see them and start wanting creamsicles and then get fat from the creamsicles?"
