I'm nervous.
<--Me quivering in fear (also cold, but mostly fear).
As I was leaving yesterday my boss's boss called me into his office and said in that big, joking voice, "BOY DO I HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU!" Which, since I know the guy, I knew to mean, "I'm going to ask you to do something!"
Well, turns out that the school board (I'm a curriculum specialist for a school district) wanted a presentation of my area of expertise. Normally, my boss would do it, but she's in Anchorage recovering from surgery. He was GREAT about it, saying that he knows that DH and I trade off on childcare and that I'm not available some evenings, but if I were available tonight (I am, today is a day that DH works during the day), would I be willing to present.
Well, sure. On a day's notice. And I have boxes and boxes of standardized tests to package up today. So last night, after DS went to bed (DH worked last night and DS is not one to let me loaf about on the computer), I hammered out a presentation.
So tonight I will be presenting to the school board, the superintendent, the two assistant superintendents, and whoever else shows up for the meeting. :Puke
Granted, It's a pretty small (well, large in the geographic sense, but a very everybody-knows-everybody) district, so I'm on a first-name basis with the superintendent and the assistant superintendents. But for the love of Pete... I don't want to! I just want to go home and knit.
