I was due 12/27, and she came 1/7. Our DD#2 has strawberry blonde hair, a cleft chin, cheek dimples that appear sporadically, long fingers and toes, and frequent hiccups. Labor started around 5:30 pm. (Best indicator of impending childbirth: at 4:00 I pulled into the driveway and sat in the car weeping silently for five minutes because my neighbor's new garden sculpture looked so pretty blowing around in the wind.) Things progressed rapidly, and birth attendants arrived at our home only about 30 minutes prior to the birth. At 8:05 I leapt into a warm pool set up in the living room, and at 8:11 she was born. DD #1 was there and announced the gender this way: "It's a baby!" By 8:30 the four of us were cuddled up in bed. Fantastic! We are so happy. I'd still like to add a few details, so I'll try to post more later (and maybe figure out how to post a picture). Hard to find time all of a sudden.
