Eardoc or Ear Popper for fluid in ears

Ds1 has developed a problem of fluid behind his ear drums which is affecting his hearing. I will do tubes if necessary but am thinking about trying one these devices first:

They each work a little differently but can be used at home and seem to have a lot of clinical evidence that they are effective in opening the eustachion tubes and allowing the fluid to drain. Any thoughts? Anyone have experience with either of these devices?

Don't have experience with either of those, but have you considered eliminating dairy from his diet?

He's been off dairy for 2 years, and the ear thing is more recent. (Dairy was a HUGE trigger for his reflux.) He also gets regular chiro adjustments.

When my dd had ear fluid problems, her doctor recommended chewing gum to get the eustachian tubes opening and closing. Might be worth a try!

depending on his age, I'd start an echinacea treatment. My son had over 6 ear infections in his first year of life, and 2 ruptured ear drums. Since we started the echinacea, we have had no ear infections or even colds, or flue, or bugs or anything. ONE day, he had a slight runny nose. That's it. he's now 18 months, so it hasn't been that long, but long enough for me to be sold on it.

Oh, I keep forgetting that my siggy doesn't show my kids' ages anymore! Ds is 4.5 years old. He's been on echinacea every other week all winter as well as a regular multi and vit c. I recently added zinc losenges also. (LOTS of colds and things since it's his first year in public school.)

i recommend the EARDOC, it is not invasive , cost much less and it works much faster.
