Do breastfed babies get PMS?

OK, that sounds like a stupid question, by my 9 month old DS gets so cranky and sleeps horribly right before I start my period. I was wondering if anyone else has this experience. Maybe my hormones are fluctuating wildly and it's affecting my milk? He is EBF but AF revisited about 4 1/2 months post partum.

Another related question. . . My PMS is so much worse after having a baby than before. Anyone heard anything about breastfeeding hormones increasing PMS? Maybe things will improve when I stop breastfeeding.

I had really bad periods postpartum when I was temporarily off my thyroid meds. The bleeding was insanely bad.

As for the fussiness - many women experience a temporary supply dip when they are getting or have their period. A calcium and magnesium supplement can help with that.

Your milk can change in quantity and taste right before AF comes, so your baby might just be reacting to that...

My supply always seemed to drop a bit around the time AF would come.

Supply and taste changes because of hormones, which can make baby but I don't think the baby gets any hormones from bf.
