I remember reading about dyeing yarn with the water from soaking black beans. Would that work with fabric as well or is there some other cheap or free way to dye fabric? I have an old bedsheet - don't know the fabric content. It is white and is a fitted sheet and has holes cut into it - ds was a ghost for halloween a couple of years ago. I want to dye it and cut it up to make a rag rug - thinking of the toothbrush type rag rug making but not sure. Anyway since it is white I want to dye it - either the whole thing or probably cut it up and dye different pieces different colors to make a pretty rug. I don't really want to go out and buy rit dye if I don't have to. So, are there other things that would dye the fabric? Thank you!
