"Fun" with prodromal labor

I'm finishing up week three of labor. My body and this babe are conspiring to make the entire family crazy. We have been in birth mode for so long and I'm getting so tired. I have a feeling by the time the real day arrives I'll be so skeptical I'll end up birthing in a messy house all by myself because I'll not believe it to be anything different than all this early business. I'm only 39 weeks now, so I shouldn't even be impatient yet, but I am. Anybody else?

No prodromal labor but just wanted to give some hugs because that is beyond my imagination to dream of being in labor for so long. You are so strong. I hope that this means when it's show time, the show will be over quick!

I just finished week 1 of on and off contractions. Braxton-Hicks all day long and stronger contractions starting in the afternoon. It seems to be pissing off the baby too, although an NST earlier this week showed that he's fine. I'm just over 38 weeks now and can't imagine doing this until my due date or later. I also wonder if I'll ignore full-blown labor, especially since it was so clear cut with my first son and seems to be constantly teasing this time.

Thanks for the sympathy and commiseration! I go back and forth with my mood. Sometimes completely happy to let this one take his/her time, sometimes so frustrated I can't sleep. I am tempted to start trying some homeopathics next week. I don't know. Really I want things to happen without nudging things onward. I'll at least give it another week.

Magistra, I was just thinking this morning that this poor kiddo is going to arrive completely mad at the world for being smashed for hours every day for a month My sister reassured me I'll just have a strong little one. Good luck to you!

I totally agree about ignoring labor. I'm so sick of crappy contrax keeping me up at night just to piddle out. I'm going to just ignore it until the baby comes. Maybe.

Just wanted to say that all the prodormal labor made the actual labor pretty fast. Hope it is the same with you ladies!
