So I decided to share this story here because it really made my day. I am incredibly lucky to have a DP who is not only intact himself, but is completely natural minded in the subject and many others. My DD has a different dad (my xH) and in my current pregnancy it has been so nice to be able to just know that I am on the same page with my DP. No need to even talk about it, really. It is just a given that should this baby be a boy, he will remain intact as well.
Well, just the other day, I decided I would talk about it. For whatever reason I became concerned with the age a child becomes retractable. So I asked DP when he became retractable and he said he had no idea. It was never an issue, or something he made a mental note of.....hahaha.
So the conversation proceeded like this:
Me: "Well, the reason I ask is because I was just wondering when we will have to talk to DS about it."
DP: 'gives me strange and confused look.'
Me: "Well, you know, I was hoping you would be able to teach him how to handle it."
DP: (Bursting into hysterical laughter) "HANDLE it????? .......Um, we as the human race have been handling it for thousands of years.....It's his penis, I'm pretty sure he'll know how to handle it!!!"
Okay, so he got me there. I never thought I would be the less natural minded one in a relationship.....lol.
It was just the way he said it that made so much sense and made me have a
moment. Needless to say, I am no longer concerned with the issue
