Confused about what DD needs for school

It's looking like Iowa has two sets of vaccines that kids need, one for child care and one for school. If she's not ever going to be in a licensed child care does she just need what's listed under the school requirements? I'm really confused on this since her doctor office has told me she'll need Hib and Pneumococcal. I don't know if they don't realize she's never going to daycare or if they're just pushing unnecessary vaxes (which I don't think they'd do since we're already vaxing on my schedule, including pushing a few off until 5 or 6).

This is the link I found.

You could just file an exemption.

We're going to have more kids though and I do want them to get some vaxes. I don't know if that would void a religious exemption for DD.

You only "need" the vaccines required by the school she is going to at the time she is going there; that will automatically "age" her out of some doses, plus Hib, and Rotavirus.

By "need," your doctor's office was referring to the CDC schedule of recommended vaccines and not what your state requires for school.

Alternatively, they may have been thinking that CDC schedule is the same as school requirements. That is false, but there is a lot of ignorance and confusion about this issue.
