MY THREE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER JUST FELL ASLEEP IN BED BY HERSELF FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! Just had to put that out there. Holy cow. (Granted, it was with the closet light on, and the door cracked, and the promise that Daddy and I would be right in the kitchen--literally 10 steps away--making treats for a camping trip tomorrow...but I really thought I was dreaming and there was no chance...until an hour later when we finally admitted to ourselves that she was probably asleep...she was! She IS!)

Congrats! Isn't it unbelievable when it happens!! This happened with my son around 3 and 7 months later is still the norm! Still unbelievable.... Can't wait for DS2 to start doing this....

Wow, cool. My seven year old still won't do that. Sometimes he falls asleep on the living room floor (only when I let him stay up watching DVDs by himself, and he'll be up until 3 or 4 in that case).
