nakey butt at night

We did nakey butt with our 14 month old son two nights ago. We have ec'ed him since 3 months. It went pretty well, but I stayed awake/didn't sleep well because I didn't want to wake up in a soaking wet bed. DH pottied him a couple of times, and he was dry until 4:30 in the morning. At that time he didn't move, moan, or have any sort of signal before he peed all over.

How do you do nakey butt with a toddler boy w/o having everything get soaking wet? Last night we put a towel down, but then it gets all scrunched up. I don't like that either.

I don't know! I just wanted to chime in that my LO seems to hold it longer if she's wearing a diaper or training pants. If nakey, she'll scooch off the blanket she sleeps on and pee directly onto the sheets. If in panties (a recent thing) she'll pee. So we just go with the bulk of the diaper for now and enjoy the dryness! (At 14 months she would have been peeing in the diaper, though!)

You could try a little baby loin cloth to reduce the fountain effect.

For us, I found that nakey butt at night mostly worked because it encouraged me to get up more readily.
