Loss of a grandparent

Thread Starter
My grandmother died November 26th, 2009. It was quite sudden-she contracted pneumonia and ultimately died from undetected liver failure. I was quite close to her since the age of 4-she lived less than 1/2 hour away from my family and we visited her all the time. Her children (my father, uncle and aunt) very generously gave me her car and many other possessions of hers-DH and I are young and don't have much money. However, it is very difficult for me to look around my home and see her things-I am grateful but not sure if the objects are just proving more depressing. Has anyone else gone through a similar experience and how did they handle it?

I so sorry about your gramma. I lost mine in 2005 and it was devastating; I was very close to her as well and over the years I can see how having her in my life has shaped me. I really don't have any advice re: her stuff. It sounds corny but the only thing that can make this better is time...that's all I have for you.
