No labor, no baby.
well, at 3pm today i go in for a week 40 check in where they are going to hook me up to the monitor to see if i'm having any contractions and i guess they test to see if you are dialated at all. is this what they call the non-stress test?

so, we'll see what they have to say.

i have to admit i'm so torn over this. i don't mind being pregnant, and i like that right now he's safe and ok and i know exactly where he is. and i still have a thousand things to do for work and at home.... but, i'd also like to meet him!

Definitely having contractions but they're short & kind of irregular and then when they go away I'm left feeling all crampy. I also feel like I want to live on the toilet. LOL TMI!!!

No baby here, either. I go into my OB in a couple of hours, will likely get a sweep.....pray for labor TODAY!!!

smokeylo. Sorry you are having so many false starts.

PaytonPlace & paxye, I hope you're both laboring happily or snuggling your new babes by now!

I have been having off-and-on contractions for a week now (41 weeks today). One here, three there. Nothing regular. Ho hum. I really thought I would see some progress by now. At 41 weeks with my son, I had had some bloody show at least. I am ready to meet this baby! Even my son has been telling my stomach, "Please come out soon, baby."

Still nothing going on in the uterus...just baby moved to ROA!! I have a feeling that s/he will be here soon. The shift from not being ready to ready is a big one. Off to check the weather for the week. We are supposed to get hit with bad weather again soon...that means BABY TIME!!

Had my appointment and due to an initial high bp reading (took again later and it was much better), she did a membrane sweep. I have had some cramping, irregular BH contractions and some more loss of mucus plug since then (39w3d). The midwife said I am a stretchy 2-3 cm now, so hopefully something will start happening soon! Cool thing is that my sister decided to take off Thurs and Fri from work and is coming to stay with us tomorrow for the weekend from Dallas! My kids just ADORE their aunt and it sure would ease my mind knowing the kiddos can stay with her when I go in to deliver.

I spent all day being mopey but this evening was hit with a strong nesting urge and cleaned the kitchen (which I usually do every night, but not with such zeal!) and was compelled to completely clean the coffee maker -- that kind of obsessive cleaning I haven't done in a week or more. I'm really hoping this is a sign that something might happen tonight. I had really talked myself out of having my hopes up about tonight... so I guess I'll either be up giving birth, or crying because I'm not in labor .

Hope we have a few more mamas laboring tonight! Not much time left in our month .

it appears things are moving forward after all, even though it didn't seem that way.

at my check she said my cervix has thinned out and i'm 2 cm dialated. she said things should start happening "soon"

This is kinda how I have to think about it now. My baby keeps flipping back and forth, vertex, transverse/breech, vertex and back. I dont know what to do. THought I was in labor a couple days ago, but I guess they are just strong BH's. But they feel like they do something. They feel like the real thing but just a mild mild version of it. There isn't that sting down low.

I am on a real rollercoaster.

40.2 weeks now.

You know they keep talking about cord prolapse and if the baby is transverse or breech, c/s. I never thought that I would have to have a c/s, after having two previous vag deliveries.

Do any of you have any experience with this situation-unstable lie of baby?

This was me today. Well- except for the morning mope. I had a crazy intense urge to clean clean clean and I have. My house is spotless. I honestly can't think of a single thing left for me to do, except do the same cleaning all over again.

And then I really needed (sort of in the middle of the cleaning) to pamper myself. Took a long bath, read a book, drank some "fancy" juice - name brand, even!- shaved my legs, used my special body wash and lotion yaddah yaddah.

I though- this is totally it! Totally! Any minute now I'm going to get a contraction! Was that one? No, that was the baby moving. Is that one? Nope, I just need to poop (for the millionth time tonight- another sign! Right!??!)

And now it's almost 11 pm, nothing doing at all. Ah well.

Due tomorrow!

I really think you should look into belly binding. Get baby into the right position one way or the other and then wrap your belly snugly with a length of fabric or tensor bandage or something.

From what I've read/heard, this is caused by having a very roomy and stretchy uterus. If you make it harder for the baby to move by applying pressure from the outside then s/he is less likely to flip transverse or breech.

I figure it really can't hurt. You're not wrapping hard enough to hurt you or the baby, just to make it more difficult for these kinds of end-game acrobatics.

Still pregnant here .. the midwives are coming today to do a prenatal .. they left all their birthing supplies here after being sure I'd have the baby this weekend, now they need them in case someone else goes into labor early. I never would have thought I'd make it this close to my due date. It's a blessing, but I sort of don't know what to do with myself

Well, balls.

I woke up this morning with chest congestion & cough, runny nose and a sore throat.

This stinks

Due today!

Ugh, I'm sorry, that sucks! My son is sick w/a bad fever, a cold, and throwing up. I'm terrified I'll get it. But I've heard that colds will sort of 'move out of the way of labor' - I hope that happens for you!

I didn't do belly wrapping but I too had the feeling that baby was still moving too much and changed positions which was making me nervous. It is my first baby but I have a very long torso with lots of room for baby. I did wear tights for three days in a row and I felt it helped to keep baby in downward position and it actually felt nice and supportive to me too. I didn't want to buy any more gear like a pregnancy belt and the tights are now, towards the end of pregnancy, pretty tight So I second it absolutely!!

Move out of the way? Hmmm. I like the sound of that. I'm scared to go into labour now, which totally stinks because everything else is PERFECT. DD is on the mend, DH is working overnight shifts the next couple of days so he's prepped for a night time labour and will be able to stay awake for it all (which is what I'm hoping for), my house is clean, I have my champagne ready ... and now this durn cold. Boo

Guys, Dea had a really cryptic message up on facebook and messaged me that she was in labor yesterday!

This would be sooooo freaky, because Dea and I have the same birthday, and so do our oldest children (Feb 24 2008) -- so if she had her son yesterday, our second kids would share a birthday, too!
