Hey, just curious what supplements you all give kids and selves.

I currently give dd (almost 5) an omega blend, a probiotic, and a an immune booster all from Nature's Plus but my mom can get supplements at wholesale and they don't carry Nature's Plus so I'm looking for other suggestions for a brand/s.

I'm currently pregnant and taking a vegan prenatal as well as D2 and vegan DHA. Sometimes I take an extra B12 and I take my cal-mag-zinc when I remember it.

Once my son is off breastmilk I'll have him on a [vegan] multi plus D2 and [vegan] DHA as well.

I don't know what brands you have access to, but i do believe that brand MATTERS when it comes to vitamins. So just make sure you do your homework before you order. Luck!

Can anyone recommend a high quality Vit D3 supplement?

I've heard carlson's drops are a good D3, but I've also heard that most D3 supplements are essentially the same.

I don't really hold a great deal with supplements, however I do take Fermented cod liver oil/butter oil mix. And if my D levels come back very low I will add carlson's D3 drops, because even though there is vitamin D in the cod liver oil, it isn't high enough to fix a D deficincy, and would be too expensive for me to take enough for that.

other supplements I would consider on a situational basis (that is, if I had a demonstrated need) would be food based folic acid (for when we get closer to TTC), food based pre-natals, food based iron if I were anemic, and herbs. and a pro-biotic, if I felt I wasn't getting enough from yogurt and sourkraut, or if I were going on anti-biotics. (However, I would rather try to correct a deficincy through food)

otherwise, I would say if you want to take supplements, make sure they are food based. You are sure to absorb them best that way.

Rainbow Light has a great 1000iu gummy. We all take this daily. We also each take omegas, probiotics, digestive enzymes and an immune support supplement (this is taken 5 days on, 2 days off). This is everyday. During cold and flu season I add in more Vit C, garlic, elderberry, etc.

This is so true. We own a HFS and really research our products and brands. There is a huge difference in lower end vs. higher.

Anyone know where I can get info on different companies. The company my mom orders from carries only high quality supplements I believe but there are still a lot of choices. I'm looking for brand recs. Thanks.
