They can't take out the tiny part of the gallbladder that is attached to the liver (it has a specific name, I can't remember.) So it's not a "ghost" attack, per se; it's an attack in that tiny part.

THANK YOU for this! I thought I was crazy thinking that I still had these phantom gb attacks even after having it out! The "after" attacks are much much easier than the actual gb attack, though - worst.pain.ever.

You may want to look up sphincter of oddi dysfunction.

OP, try apple cider vinegar when you feel an attack coming on. It may help to lessen the severity of the pain. It helped after I had my GB removed and I was still having symptoms. I still use it now and then because I think I get little stones in my bile ducts. GB issues suck. So sorry you're dealing with this
